How to alter Simplicity 8391 to make Palazzo pants and a darted printed top

A short pattern hack

This is a continuation of my previous blog post Sew yourself Cropped pants and a matching top

The last post was an embroidered pair of crop trousers with a top featuring the same embroidery. I appreciate that some of you have no desire to embroider by machine or hand so this is another idea - Block Printing.

I wish to thank the delightful Fiona from Hobbycraft in Preston who advised me on what I needed to purchase and how to use them! I have never done block printing before so her advice was invaluable. Hobbycraft Thank you Fiona.

Everything is the same as in the previous post
All of the machines, zip, thread and habberdashery etc are from Contact Jaycotts

A cosy cowl by MiY

A MCBN post

A cosy cowl by MiY - Wendy Ward

I was delighted to be sent this pattern from MinervaCrafts.

Have you ever seen a pattern in its own little carrier bag before? I haven't and
to further add to my delight the pattern instructions are tied with a ribbon bow. Such a lot of effort has gone into producing this beautiful pattern. This cosy cowl is perfect for a winter's day or as an evening or wedding cover-up.

A very elegant cover-up for evening wear or Bridesmaids

The fabric I used is stunning.  It is  Velboa Fur Fleece Fabric in Cream.   It is deliciously soft and cuddly and more " grown up" than polar fleece for example. The colour  suits just about everyone too.  It's more of a winter White than cream.... But here I  must stop and invite you to follow this link to the fantastic MinervaCrafts website where you will be able to read the rest of the blog post and find out more about the fabric and pattern I used. The Cosy Cowl by MiY

Do let me know if you make this and I would love to see your photographs

And don't forget to visit the MinervaCrafts SALE for bargain fabrics, knitting wool and more!
